Characters The Main Cast Vicky Hill An ambitious trainee newspaper reporter who dreams of becoming a famous investigative journalist but finds herself stuck writing obituaries for the Gipping Gazette. Vicky's also the daughter of legendary criminal, The Fog-a fact she must keep secret. Annabel Lake Vicky's voluptuous sexpot rival who uses her feminine wiles to bully, manipulate and outsmart our heroine. Currently Annabel is living with silver-haired lothario, Dr. Frost. Topaz Potter/Ethel Turberville-Spat Only known as Ethel to a select few, she inherited The Grange estate from her aunt but goes by the name of Topaz Potter, waitress at the Copper Kettle cafè. Topaz is enamored with Vicky and has aspirations to follow in her footsteps. Barbara Meadows The Gazette's long-time receptionist, a mine of local gossip and advice—especially when it involves the opposite sex. D.S. Colin Probes An attractive police officer and distant cousin of Topaz/Ethel. Steve Burrows Gipping's paramedic and loveable womanizer, determined to add Vicky to his list of bedroom conquests. Characters we'll get to know better: Douglas Fleming A bit of a ladies man, now recently widowed. Mrs. Evans Vicky's new landlady and owner of a cleaning service called Doing-It-Daily. Eunice Pratt The dead man's sister and a born troublemaker obsessed with petitions. Lieutenant Robin Berry Vicky's new crush who just happens to be Eunice Pratt's nephew. Sadie Evans Mrs. Evans's wayward daughter who works as an exotic dancer in the city of Plymouth. Chuffy McSnatch A friend of Vicky's father from the criminal underworld. And introducing ...
